Previously, we shared the rather ironic incident whereby a police officer had his patrol motorcycle clamped by a security worker for parking at a spot designated for the differently-abled (OKU).
Now, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has commented on the incident, confirming that it has taken action against the officer.
In a statement issued by the Petaling Jaya District Police Chief ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin bin Abdul Hamid, an investigation of the viral post found that the incident took place at the parking area of Flora Damansara Apartment in Petaling Jaya.
Furthermore, the incident involved a Honda ST 1300 motorcycle belonging to the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department’s motorcade branch.
Mohamad Fakhrudin further elaborated that the incident took place at around 11.30 am on Monday (29 May) and that a police report was made regarding the incident on Thursday (1 June).
Following an investigation under Section 79 (2) APJ 1987, PDRM has since issued a summon to the police officer who was riding the motorcycle.
PDRM thus call upon the public to adhere to traffic laws and be alert to traffic signs. The police stressed that it will not compromise on any road users who don’t follow traffic laws, even if they are from enforcement agencies.
