The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) detained a 39-year-old volunteer policewoman in Endau, Mersing yesterday night for allegedly posting an insulting comment on Facebook regarding the MADANI government.

In a statement by the Johor Police Chief Dato’ Kamarul Zaman bin Mamat, the woman was detained after a police report was made by a senior police officer at 10.22pm on Thursday (28 September) who stumbled upon the insulting comment on the Meta-owned social media platform.

The statement added that the comment was referring to an individual and is believed to have offensive and outrageous motives.

Initial investigation found that the suspect was the owner of the Facebook account which posted the insulting comment and identified as a volunteer policewoman stationed in Mersing.

She was detained in Endau, Mersing at 10.58pm yesterday, with the case being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.

The woman’s comment was made under a post on a local Facebook page that asked, “Bila sebut MADANI, apa yang terlintas di fikiran anda?” or roughly translated to English as “When MADANI is mentioned, what comes to your mind?”.

Aaaa

Based on a screenshot of the post that has gone viral, the volunteer policewoman allegedly answered “Kaki liwat” or sodomite. However, the comment has since been deleted.
