We tend to make mistakes when we’re not in the right frame of mind.

Yesterday, a video circulated on social media, which showed a hit and run involving a Honda Civic driver and a motorcyclist. In the video which was shared on the Facebook page Info Berita Semasa, the Civic driver was seen hitting the motorcyclist, which prompted the victim to fall onto the ground. Fortunately, he got back up but the driver did not get out of his car to check on the victim or to apologise.

Instead, he tried to escape by reversing and speeding off.

The public tried to stop the car from leaving, and one of them even threw his helmet at the car but to no avail. The driver escaped.

With the video circulating on social media, many netizens expressed their anger and tagged PDRM, in the hopes that the matter would reach their attention. On the same night (November 30), PDRM released a statement and said the suspect had been apprehended.

The hit and run took place in Rawang on November 29 around 3:30pm. Police arrested the 45-year-old man in Selayang last night at 7:45pm, and confirmed that he was running away from an argument with his wife during the incident.

“The suspect is not related to the motorcyclist, who is the victim in this case.”

The cause of the fight with his wife, however, was not disclosed. The matter is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder, and Section 337 of the Penal Code. Police also confirmed that the victim suffered injuries on his leg and elbow.

You can watch the viral clip below.

It’s not a brilliant idea to be behind the wheel when you’re not doing well emotionally. Fortunately, no lives were lost during the incident.
