Delivery items were found discarded at a garbage dump near the Kampung Bukit Kuching Tengah Islamic Cemetery, Selangor on Tuesday (23 February).

Two videos posted online show several items still in their delivery wrapping and packaged under a local courier company.

Bukit Tengah Village Community Management Council (MPKK) chairman Saharudin Zam Zam confirmed the incident after seeing the packages at the dumping site himself and estimates that about 80 per cent of the packages have the logo of the courier company on them.

Saharudin added that he found out about the incident after a friend uploaded his status on Facebook at about 5.30 pm, reported Sinar Harian.

“I went straight to the dump myself and saw the pile of sacks and packages involved,” he said.

“However, the dumping of the packages involved was later burned by irresponsible parties on Tuesday morning.”

He added that he did not know if the packages contained customer’s items or empty packages that were deliberately thrown away.

“Everything is in a package and I do not know the motive of the party involved, whether the discarded package has any elements of sabotage or betrayal of another party,” he said.

Saharudin added that he later contacted the courier company and met with one of their staff at one of their branches nearby.

“They (the staff) informed that the packages and sacks found were not theirs,” he said.

“I also did not lodge a police report because I did not want to accuse any party of committing the act.”
