It appears that the death of Form One student Zara Qairina Mahathir, 13, from Sipitang, Sabah, left a deep impact on the Labuan community, with more than 3,000 people gathering today in a solidarity rally demanding justice for her.
The rally, held at Medan Selera Labuan in conjunction with the Labuan Bike event, was organised by Kelab Wanita Sejahtera and led by UMNO Supreme Council Member Datuk Mohd Rafi Ali Hassan.

The event showcased extraordinary unity, with local political leaders including representatives from PKR and Warisan taking the stage to deliver passionate speeches demanding truth, justice, and an end to violence against children.
Many participants wore all-black attire and carried placards bearing Zaraâs name, âJustice for Zara Qairina,â and âStop Bullying.â

âThis is not just a political or social issue, but a humanitarian one. We stand together to demand justice for Zara Qairina,â said Mohd Rafi in his address to the crowd.
In a related development, Zaraâs grave was exhumed yesterday afternoon and her remains were transported to Kota Kinabalu late last night.
A post-mortem was conducted this morning at Queen Elizabeth I Hospital to assist the ongoing police investigation into her death, which has sparked public outrage.
