It today’s series of bizarre news, a customer purchased cow dung cakes from Amazon and actually ate it instead of using it for “religious purposes”.
Now, if you didn’t already know, cow dung has been commonly used in India for religious ceremonies, prayers and even general use such as replacement of firewood and paving walls.
However, this customer who purchased these cow dung cakes probably got confused when they saw the word ‘cake’. In the product description box, it is clearly mentioned that the cow dung cakes are meant for puja and not for eating!
This story garnered loads of attention when a Twitter user posted screenshots on Twitter after noticing that a customer had posted his review of cow dung cakes on Amazon.

In this review, he complains that the cow dung tasted bad and describes it as “grass-like and muddy.” EW!
He even advised the seller to “pay attention to the taste and crunchiness” of the product.
Here’s his full review:
“It tasted very bad when I ate it. It was grass-like and muddy in taste. I got loose motions after that. Please be a little more hygienic while manufacturing. Also, pay attention to the taste and crunchiness of his product,” the customer reviewed on Amazon.
Netizens had a field day!
Some thought it was fake news at first and some just simply made fun of the whole situation.
Of course, it was a good laugh for some!
Some thought it would be better to let the customer know that it was not meant to be eaten… but too late!
