In China, a mainland nursery teacher who forced a pupil to eat his vomit on his sixth birthday has caused outrage online.

According to the South China Morning Post, surveillance video footage on social media showed her stuffing food that the boy had vomited back into his mouth after he had finished. The boy had thrown up chunks of pumpkin after being forced to overeat.

The incident led the boy’s parents to complain about the teacher, calling her actions child abuse. They explained that their child was sick because he was forced to eat the pumpkin on a full stomach.

Boy

The shocking incident happened on the boy’s birthday who was dressed in new clothes, but when he came home, his clothes were filthy. Although his parents initially thought nothing of it, the boy revealed to his grandmother that the teacher had forced him to eat more food after lunch.

The parents then reported the incident to the nursery and asked several times to see the surveillance video but did not get to view it until the police became involved.

On October 13, the local education bureau said on its official WeChat account that it had verified the case following an investigation and demanded the school apologise to the parents and dismiss the teacher.
