Due to the huge fire at the Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Substation at Mid Valley Megamall, the mall had to close down for some time to handle the situation.

But they were not the only ones who were affected.

According to NU Sentral‘s Facebook page, they had to close down for today (May 17) as the substation fire caused

They wrote, “Dear shoppers, NU Sentral Management Office confirms an unscheduled power shut down incident at NU Sentral Shopping Centre today, May 17, 2023.”

“The mall is being supported by temporary power supplies until the authorities restore the regular power source. For the safety purposes of our shoppers, NU Sentral Shopping Centre will be closed until further notice. Kindly reach out to our customer service counter located at Level G (near the monorail entrance) or our mall security for assistance.”

It was later revealed that their power shut down was, in fact, caused by the TNB substation fire at Mid Valley Megamall.

They are still currently trying to identify the cause of the fire and have apologised to shoppers for the inconvenience.

“Rest assured that all safety measures have been taken by the mall. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. We shall update on the incidents from time to time,” they added.
