It’s no secret that Malaysians are slowly losing their interest in going to Ramadan Bazaars, purely because of the skyrocketing prices of food and drinks items sold, the long queues, the search for parking spaces, the weather and more.
But, Ramadan Bazaar vendors have similar difficulties too. From increasing rent prices of bazaar space to the increasing prices of ingredients and more, both parties appear to be on a losing side.
Businesswoman and influencer, @lady_bugg11 (also known as CikYanie), took to her Twitter account to praise Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming for showing support for both vendors and visitors of the Ramadan Bazaar in Putrajaya by buying food items in bulk and handing them out to the people around him.
She wrote, “It’s interesting to see how YB Nga Kor Ming is doing this. He’s buying from vendors and handing it out to the visitors who came to the bazaar. There are 2 good things that YB did, which is to support bazaar vendors and give back to the visitors.”
She went on to explain that what the Minister did equates to blessings during the Ramadan month, as he provided food to those who are fasting.
“Sharing with those in need, giving alms to those in need, whether in the form of zakat, fitrah or charity, it is highly recommended to practice this during the month of Ramadan.”
“The Prophet SAW is the most generous person, and he is even more generous in the month of Ramadan,” she added.
