There’s a new documentary that’s on its way to screens all over the world, surrounding Malaysian fugitive Jho Low, who has yet to be brought to justice for his involvement in the 1MDB scandal.
IGN Movie Trailers took to their YouTube channel to showcase the trailer for the documentary by The Smoking Section production in association with Evergreen Media, called ‘Man on the Run‘, directed by Cassius Michael Kim.
They wrote, “Man on the Run exposes a shocking true story of corruption and betrayal that shook an entire nation’s financial stability. It follows Jho Low, a mysterious businessman, and playboy, as he masterminds a scheme to exploit a sovereign wealth fund in Malaysia, 1MDB.”
“With the collaboration of (then) Prime Minister Najib Razak, Low funnels billions into global bank accounts to fuel his extravagant lifestyle, including Hollywood parties and even financing ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the documentary features exclusive interviews with United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents Charles W. O’Neal and David Smith, who were instrumental in building the case against 1MDB.
It also includes the last filmed interview with former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak before he was sentenced to imprisonment for his involvement in the SRC International case. Besides that, the documentary also features an interview with then-opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, who is now the current Prime Minister of Malaysia.
In the trailer, the interviewer asked Najib, “Where do you think Jho Low is?”, to which he replied, “I have no idea.”.
