Local actor Zul Ariffin recently uploaded a snippet of a would be Malay movie set to air this Ramadhan, only to face considerable backlash from conservative Malaysians.
The video shows the male actor and his female counterpart acting racy scenes, which includes the act of feeding Zul Ariffin whipped cream using her finger.
Entitled ‘Perempuan Itu’, the film saw a surmountable amount of criticism thrown with netizens expressing their disagreement towards the content.
Citing that it is unsuitable for the Malaysian crowd, especially Muslims, many criticised the fact that the film will be made public during the holy month of Ramadhan.
In their media statement to diffuse the controversy, TV3 writes: “We take into consideration the public’s view on this matter.”
“The clip in question was never submitted or approved for viewership by the station.”
“This incident should not have taken place as all local production is required to undergo strict censorship and follow guidelines set by Lembaga Penapisan Filem (LPF).
The video has since been taken down by the actor himself from social media.
