Not long ago, Malaysians were left fuming when an entitled government official, used the power he had to cut the cue and was ushered into the mosque because of his VVIP status.

This of course did not go down well for the government officer and management of the mosque, as they were smacked left, right and center on social media for offering preferred treatment to VVIPs.

This is not one of those incidents. Taking to TikTok, one netizen shared how Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, performed his Friday prayers yesterday, with no bodyguards or security escort, and prayed just like everybody else.

Taking to TikTok, @rahimazhari writes, “As I was waiting for the Friday prayers to start, I noticed this man.”

“He entered the Putrajaya Mosque, I told myself that this is him. Imagine that, our top most leader entering the mosque with no escort or preferred treatment.”

“This is a leadership quality that most of us should follow, standing shoulder to shoulder with us commoners.”

Commenting on the video, netizens agree that this is the approach that most politicians should adopt.

“This is how things should be. There is no need to show your power in the presence of God.”

“Showing humility is a quality that is better than anything else.”

Let’s hope that there are many leaders out there who will practice this level of humility in the future, no matter which political party you belong too.

If a Prime Minister can do this, why can’t others simply follow?
