Kindness and racial harmony still exist despite certain parties saying otherwise, and Malaysians have proven through and through that they are more keen on seeking similarities than differences.

One netizen took to Twitter to share how Malaysians stick up for each other while abroad.

In her Tweet, @DeneshaNathan was responding to another netizen who shared about how Malaysians of different races and religions helped him during his stay overseas.

She writes, “Ask any Malaysian living abroad; you don’t go by Indian, Chinese or Malay. You are Malaysian, and we look out for one another.”

In her thread, she reminisced of her experience in Cambodia, sharing anchovies with her Malaysian colleague due to the scarcity of the food item in the country.

She also talked about how she shared coffee with another Malaysian despite not knowing one another previously.

“In my first week there, I was looking for a famous coffee shop, and to my surprise, there was a Malaysian Chinese guy having coffee. I spoke Tamil, but somehow he overheard and asked ‘Malaysian?’. We sat together to have coffee, and he paid for our coffee.”

Her tweet garnered more than 10.8k retweets and received much love from netizens who recounted their own tales of meeting Malaysians abroad.

It is always lovely to hear that Malaysians will always find a way to stick together, especially when they go abroad.

Let’s hope that Malaysians here too can exercise the same sense of togetherness instead of always trying to find reasons to divide.
