With the implementation of CMCO, anyone who needs to travel interstate or inter-district for emergency purposes will need to get a permit from PDRM.

PDRM has taken it upon themselves to clarify who needs to get the permit on Facebook. These are the four categories of people who would need to fill up a form and go to the nearest police station to get it validated.

  1. Individuals from areas which are implementing CMCO who need to go to other states due to emergency reasons (sickness or death).
  2. Individuals who want to cross areas which are implementing CMCO for emergency reasons.
  3. Individuals from outside who want to enter areas which are implementing CMCO due to emergency reasons.
  4. Individuals who are travelling by air using the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), KLIA 2 and Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang.

Example situation for category 2: An individual from Johor who wants to go to Penang via Selangor will have to fill-up the form and submit it to the closest police station near their home before starting their journey.

Example situation for category 3: An individual from Melaka who wants to enter Putrajaya for an emergency will have to fill-up the form and submit it to the closest police station near their home before starting their journey.

If any individual who has forgotten to fill up the form and has started their journey, they will need to fill-up the form and send it to the nearest police station before crossing the borders or going to a roadblock.

The form mentioned above can be downloaded here. You can also get it at nearby police stations.

People who need to cross districts or states to work will need to have a valid work-pass or a permission letter from their employer. For workers within the same district, there will be no need for the aforementioned documents.

Reminder: Only two people are allowed to be in a vehicle at a time in CMCO implemented areas.
