Our beloved Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib Razak updated his blog today and let’s just say Malaysians aren’t too happy after reading it.

In the blog, Najib said that Malaysian Government has introduced 2 methods to cope with the ever-increasing living cost. The first method was to increase the people’s income while the second one was through price reduction of the goods.

“Despite government’s effort in giving out subsidy and reducing price for basic goods, increasing one’s income is still the more strategic way to uplift the standard of living in the long run.”

Najib also said that the government has set up many facilities for citizens to undergo self-development. Moreover, Malaysians can also get help from entities such as TEKUN, MARA and SUPERB to start up their own businesses.

If Malaysia were to move forward, we must figure out how to increase our income, and not just depending on the government to intervene and control the market.”

However, he expressed that the government will continue helping the people in different ways but Malaysians themselves must be proactive and work hard to increase their income.

Finally, Najib stressed that things do not come free in life and if we worked hard enough, we can have whatever we want.

However, some Malaysian netizens begged to differ after reading it.

“I feel that the government relies on the people more,” said a netizen.

“I think it’s the other way around. Government relies on people to pay off their debts. And the subsidies for fuel and cooking oil has been abolished.” commented another netizen.

I don’t know about you guys but I’m still trying to figure out which items’ price has dropped.
