In less than a day ago, our dearest Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak shared his thoughts on Facebook.
He writes in a recent post, expressing his disappointment at a former leader who was fueled and embraced the national spirit. However, Najib says that now, that ‘certain someone’ asked people from foreign countries to interfere with the country’s issues.
It was clear to all Malaysians that the ‘certain someone’ was ex-prime minister, Dr Mahathir.
He in fact saw the action for seeking foreign help as part of Dr Mahathir’s personal agenda.
“We don’t need [such things to happen]. We don’t ask for foreign help in our own country’s issues. Let the domestic affairs be settled by the country’s own people.” he said.
His post writes,
Malaysians who read the post were confused, saying that Najib was being a hypocrite for saying that as he himself accepted RM2.6 billion from a Saudi royal family. Allegedly anyway.
The post got over 15,000 reactions and almost 1,200 shares since it was posted.
There were mixed responses to the post. Some Malaysians agreed that domestic affairs should be settled by the country themselves while others said that Malaysians have no freedom of speech so having foreign countries interfering would actually help the country.
#respectmypm“
What’s your view? Should foreign parties interfere or not?
