It appears that Najib earned over a million Ringgit over the course of 2011, on bank interest alone from a personal account with AmBank.
An infographic shared by The Malaysian Insight shows a gradual increase in the amount the former Prime Minister received from the interest as the months went by, starting in February 2011 with RM5,214.10 to December 2011 with RM308,621.92.
They wrote, “Najib Razak generated more than a million Ringgit as interest earning from AmBank for funds in his personal bank account, the Kuala Lumpur High Court heard today.”
This comes after the AmBank Jalan Raja Chulan branch manager confirmed several interest payments to Najib’s private account ending with ‘694’, while testifying as a prosecution witness in his 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) trial.
So, what is the total amount, you ask? RM1,253,924.80. A hefty sum in bank interest made in just 11 months.
