On 19 March, former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, admitted to breaching the standard operating procedures (SOPs), when he visited a popular chicken rice eatery in Kuala Lumpur.
In his statement, he urged the authorities to issue compounds in relation to his mistake.
According to MyMetro, Dang Wangi District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner, Mohamad Zainal Abdullah shared that Najib will be issued two RM1,500 compounds (totalling RM3,000) for failing to check in on the MySejahtera application and failing to record his body temperature at the eatery.
The restaurant management was also compounded RM10,000 for not ensuring that Najib follow the SOPs before entering their store.
“In regards to the ‘check in’ status, arrangements were made and I was immediately brought into the shop when I arrived. I admit my mistake as I did not check myself in this time, even though my officers did. Usually, I adhere to all the SOPs that are enforced,”
“That’s okay. I ask that the authorities compound me on my accidental mistake,” Najib wrote in his initial statement.
