Covid-19 has struck our nation for a whole year now and by the end of February, we will finally have the vaccines. Hopefully.
In order to make the process of getting vaccines less complicated and more accessible to the public, the MySejahtera application will be updated with other features such as MySejahtera Vaccination estimated by the end of this month.
According to the Senior Principal Assistant Director of the Disease Control Division, Dr Mahesh Appannan, the whole vaccination process (except for the vaccination itself) will be done on the application. This includes registration, vaccination appointments and surveillance of the individual after being vaccinated.
It is said that as of now, MySejahtera has 27,313,193 users while the population of Malaysia is estimated to be at 32.7 million. Dr Mahesh urges the people who have yet to download MySejahtera to do so as soon as possible, reported Awani.
The government will vaccinate about 70% of the population to create herd immunity (23 million people) and they will start by vaccinating:
- The frontliners.
- People who are at high risk (have chronic illnesses) and elderly above 60 years old.
- People above the age of 18.
The Ministry of Health has said that the side effects of Covid-19 vaccination include pain in the vaccination area, fatigue, headache, and fever. These side effects can be resolved by taking paracetamol before getting the vaccination.
Will you be registering to get the vaccine as soon as registrations are open? Let us know in the comments.
