Although MUDA has been praised in the past for their efforts in spreading the views of the youth on pressing issues, critics have also condemned the way that they rally support for their party.
Recently, MUDA’s released a video in conjunction with Malaysia Day, to highlight the things that every state in the country has to offer, with various MUDA representative presenting a short poetic verse for the video.
The video included representatives from Penang, Sarawak, Terengganu, Kelantan and many others, as well as an appearance by MUDA president Syed Saddiq himself.
The video received mixed reactions, however, one of the biggest critics of the video came from one of its members.
Taking to Twitter, MUDA Kedah’s director of information shared a post where he criticised the video for not including Kedah.
In his post, Amer Abdullah said, “If I knew (that) you wouldn’t include Kedah in this video, I wouldn’t have stayed up late night to do (the) editing. Wasted my time and effort. Hire a good and professional team please.”
Received mixed reactions
The criticism by Amer received plenty of attention from netizens who were divided on the matter.
“Don’t you have a WhatsApp group.”
A user commented, “He is annoyed that he wasn’t in the video.”
Another pointed out that he should’ve been more matured with the way he handled things instead of publicly criticising his own party on social media.
“Could’ve been a little more matured about this and man up to call and rectify with your upstream instead of tweeting,” added the user.
On the other hand, a number of netizens backed up Amer and criticised the video and the party for not including Kedah and Perak.
“Where is Kedah and Perak?”
“Is Kedah not in Malaysia,” asked another user.
