A recent heartwarming video has caught the attention of many netizens, showing an elderly man delivering Raya cookies to a customer’s home in Puchong after travelling all the way from Setapak.
In a post on Threads, the customer (@animnasution) shared CCTV footage of the moment she spoke to the rider over the phone. During the call, he informed her that some of the cookies had been crushed during the long journey.
Kind gesture meets humble choice
After his explanation, the customer offered the rider a jar of cookies as a token of her gratitude. Although he initially declined, the pak cik eventually accepted the kind gesture.
As he set down the delivery bag, he took one container for himself. Without the customer’s knowledge, he humbly chose the jar containing the crushed cookies, leaving the intact ones for her.
“Thank you, pak cik rider, for being willing to deliver the kuih by motorcycle from so far away in this heat (Setapak–Idaman BSP). But that’s the thing… why did he take the damaged ones? I didn’t notice at the time that he had taken the broken ones. May Allah protect you every time you go out to earn a living. Please pray that he is blessed with abundant rezeki (sustenance),” she wrote.
Netizens were moved by the sincerity
The story has since touched the hearts of many online, with many praising the rider’s integrity and even offering to contribute to him personally.
“Many people have been messaging me asking for the pak cik’s QR code. Ya Allah, you’re all so kind. May Allah bless you all,” the customer added.
“You’re kind. The pak cik is kind too. Everyone is kind.”
