Fans of Blackpink, we’re sure you’re aware of the limited edition merchandises from Starbucks which were recently released in Malaysian outlets. Are you among the crowd who stayed in line for hours to get your hands on the merchandise?
Queueing up for something that’s going viral on the internet seems to be the trend today, and Blackpink’s merchandise from Starbucks is are no exception. A group of fans were seen lining up outside Aeon Mall in Shah Alam even before the mall opened its doors. When the security guard opened the shutters, the group of people were seen sprinting towards Starbucks to be the 1st in the line.
It was definitely a busy opening for the baristas who started the day by serving customers who mostly swarmed into the store for the merchandise, as shown on Aeon Shah Alam’s TikTok post.
The collaboration is known as Starbucks X Blackpink, and seasonal drinks were not the only promoted items. Limited edition merchandise like cold cups, mugs, passport holder and even apron are sold to public.
The price starts from RM148 for the Blackpink Doodle Cold Cup, and goes up to RM478 for the high quality Rhinestones Stainless Steel Cold Cup. You can check all the merchandises on Starbucks’ Instagram highlight.

Many netizens shared what they thought about the situation, given the price of the merchandise is too much for some people.
“My husband wanted to buy a croissant and he didn’t know it was the launching day for the merchandise. He was the only one in the queue who was there for a croissant.”
“For a B40 like me, that RM400 could get me diapers and milk for the kids for a month.”
“A Tumblr for RM478. You all are so good in managing your savings.”
In the meantime, the post also gained the attention of the American netizens who also wanted the items in their markets.
On the other hand, other customers, especially those who lined up and eventually did not get to purchase any of the merchandise reminded Starbucks to replenish more of the stocks.
