We’ve seen long queues for Apple iPhones, popular restaurants and concert tickets. Now, fashion enthusiasts are raving over the COS Quilted Bag that is actually not even new!
Having been selling like hot cakes since last year, the quilted bags were recently restocked at a COS outlet in Pavilion KL. There were so many people waiting to get their hands on the bags that the queue snaked around the store!
As stocks were limited, each customer was limited to only two bags. According to KL fashion blogger Eros (@fishmeatdie), “the whole of KL (was there)”.
The Jennie Effect?
Available in 3 sizes, oversized, small and mini, the quilted bags from European fashion brand COS have been around for at least 2 years. They’ve even gotten an update on their design and silhouette.
However, the bag only became popular early last year after K-pop superstar and style icon Jennie from Blackpink posted photos of her using it on her Instagram.
As soon as fans saw the bag, they quickly snapped it up and sold out the item in stores everywhere. It is believed that this “Jennie Effect” has made the bag one of COS’ hottest-selling items.
