M’sians Outraged by Passersby Who Ignored Injured & Bleeding 78yo Snatch Thief Victim in Bangsar

A 78-year-old woman was injured after a thief on a motorcycle snatched her handbag from behind causing her to fall to the ground, causing her to bleed from her head.

According to a report by Oriental Daily, this took place at 6:30am on October 7 (Monday) at Jalan Limau Manis, Bangsar, while the elderly woman had gone out to buy her newspaper as part of her usual morning routine.

They also showcased CCTV footage of the incident, which shows the woman slowly getting up after lying on the ground for about 5 minutes. Passersby saw the elderly woman and extended a helping hand. She was later sent to the University Malaya Medical Center (PPUM) for treatment.

 

However, netizens were quick to point out that, though passersby helped the elderly woman, they were not the first to walk by her.

Based on the CCTV footage, 2 people casually walked by the elderly woman after she had fallen to the ground due to the snatch thief, and completely ignored her! It was a duo who walked by the woman, after the first 2 individuals, that stopped to check on the injured elderly woman.

Taking to Oriental Daily’s post, they condemned the 2 individuals for their lack of empathy and assistance.
