Tun Mahathir is not only a great leader, but also a trendsetter it seems! #influencer

Just hours ago (17 May), a picture of Tun Mahathir decked in a grey pair of baju Melayu chilling while scrolling through his smartphone went viral on social media. That’s because despite having all the money in the bank and being the 7th prime minister of Malaysia (congrats!), he was spotted rocking a pair of Bata sandals instead of a fancy designer pair! Fenty slides who?

This picture shows just how humble of a person Tun Mahathir is and this is the kind of leader that all Malaysians want!

As expected, netizens went gaga over the pair of brown sandals and started showing deep interest in getting a similar pair. With a crazy demand in the market, Bata cleverly responded to these requests through its Facebook page.

Some netizens with unbelievably sharp eyes however, noticed a slight difference between Tun M’s slippers and the version Bata posted online. Here’s the explanation by Bata.

The hype got so crazy that some netizens even urged Bata to come up with a ‘Tun M’ version! That’s not a bad idea at all!

The best part? Bata’s pair of sandals won’t break your bank because they only cost RM11.99! So affordable!

So guys, if you want to feel closer to Tun Mahathir, you gotta walk in his shoes, and these sandals will do just the job!
