M’sians Get Alleged Child Abuser Arrested by The Police After Exposing His Actions Online

Taking to Twitter, a netizen recently shared a disturbing before-and-after picture of a bruised and malnourished child.

In her caption, the netizen writes, “This is another case of child abuse. This has gone on for more than four days.”

 

“I can’t believe that this child is beaten by her mother’s boyfriend,” added the netizen.

Public outcry ensued, with netizens urging the authorities to take action. We are happy to report that they have arrested the culprit.

According to the Wangsa Maju District Deputy Police Chief DSP D. Saralathan, “The police have arrested a 31-year-old man who allegedly abused his girlfriend’s baby girl at a flat in Jinjang.”

“The investigation is being conducted by the Sexual, Women and Children’s Investigations Division (D11) of the Kuala Lumpur Police Headquarters.”

“Yesterday, a video of a 23-month-old baby girl, believed to have been abused by her mother’s boyfriend in an apartment unit in Setapak here, went viral on social media,” he said.

According to police reports, the baby had injuries on the back of her body, lips and bruises on both eyes. She is currently being treated at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

 

The case is investigated under Section 31 (1) of the Child Act 2001. Let’s pray that justice is served!
