A distressing video has been circulating on social media recently, showing an unforeseen incident that took place at a traffic light intersection during a thunderstorm in Selangor’s capital city of Shah Alam.
The video, a dashcam footage from a vehicle behind a white Honda Civic, recorded the harrowing moment of the traffic light pole suddenly falling and crashing into the top of the Honda Civic.
Shared by @_sadster on X, the video has garnered over 4,100 reposts and more than 3,400 likes as of the time of writing.
@_sadster was driving the vehicle behind the Honda Civic when the incident happened and sought to find the vehicle driver as the dashcam footage could prove helpful to claim insurance or take legal action on the incident.
In the captions, @_sadster wrote,
“Salam, does anyone know the owner of this Honda Civic? Can you please send this video to him/her? The incident happened at the traffic light in front of Menara U, Shah Alam at 4.05pm.”

In the replies to the first X post, @_sadster apologised to the Honda Civic driver for not stopping to help but hoped that the video could be helpful for evidence, presumably for claiming insurance or legal actions.
Thankfully, the post did reach the Honda Civic owner, X user @RishnuVasanth who replied to the X post thanking @_sadster for the video, saying that it is very helpful.
When @_sadster asked whether anyone was injured due to the incident, @RishnuVasanth said that all of the individuals inside the car were fine. However, he shared that they are still traumatised following the incident.
Meanwhile, other commenters in the replies chimed in regarding the incident, with many praising @_sadster for the effort to find the Honda Civic owner to make sure they’re fine and to share the dashcam footage.
One commenter said that he was glad that all inside the car were not injured and praised @_sadster for being a helpful citizen.
Besides that, one commenter said that there is ongoing construction at the intersection and maybe the workers didn’t install the traffic light pole properly.
