While this may be something normal to us Malaysians, the sight was apparently quite out of the ordinary for Alper, to the point that it was noteworthy to be shared with his followers.
He asserted,
“This mall food court has a station to wash your hands.”
Malaysians react to Alper’s post
Alper’s Threads post seems to attract many Malaysians, as most of the commenters in the replies are Malaysians who were shocked at how having handwashing sinks at food courts is not the norm overseas, especially in Western countries.
One Malaysian replied by asking, “So, not everywhere in the world has this?” while another was dumbfounded to find something as ubiquitous as handwashing sinks at food courts are not the norm everywhere else around the world.
Besides that, one Malaysian seems to be disgusted by the implication, answering, “So you guys don’t wash your hands before eating?”.
Another commenter echoed the same sentiment, saying, “You’re telling me you don’t wash your hands when eating pizzas and burgers?”.
Meanwhile, one Malaysian claimed that handwashing sinks at food courts are not the norm overseas and is something she appreciates about our country whenever she travels overseas.
