Living in Malaysia, we know that there are certain months when going to the beach is not advisable at all as the seas will be rough.
In a video that has been making rounds on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), we see a couple of people swimming in the sea in rough waves.
The 15-second clip features a view of a beach seemingly in Malaysia (due to the license plates on the vehicles).
Winds were blowing and the waters looked rough while 4 people were playing in it. The red flag that is used to signify danger was also seen very clearly.
The caption of the video by the uploader (@/anthraxxx781) reads, “There’s a red flag there and they are still playing in the water.”
Many netizens commented and said that what they are doing is extremely dangerous.
“The thing is if there are no red flags, you can still evaluate by yourself that the waves are really rough. If they had used their brains even a little, they will know that the waters are dangerous.”
“There are many who are like this. They will even let small children play in the waters during rough wind and waves,” commented a user.
One user said, “Did they think that the red flag was for Chinese New Year?”
As many do not know that different flags at the beach signify different things, here’s an infographic that will help.
Remember, it’s always better to be safe than sorry!
