On February 5 (Sunday), Pakistan celebrated Kashmir Solidarity Day to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people in their struggle for the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination.
In conjunction with that, the Pakistan High Commission of Malaysia took to their Twitter page to showcase a video message from former 2-time Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad.
They wrote, “(A) message from Tun Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad, former Prime Minister of Malaysia and a renowned global statesman, on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.”
In the message, Tun M shared his belief against India’s decision to scrap Article 370, a constitutional provision that grants special status and allows the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir to make its own laws.
“My gratitude to the organisers is not merely for inviting me, but more also for organising this commemoration which in effect serves to remind us and the rest of the world that the plight of Kashmir and its people remain as bad if not worse since India’s unilateral revocation of Article 370.”
“The world was served with horrific stories of Indian forces mass extrajudicial killings, torture. And these stories continue to emerge despite repeated protests and concerns expressed by international bodies,” Tun M shared in the video message.
Though despite the important message, people have since taken to the comment section to share their dissatisfaction over the fact that Tun M was the one who delivered it

What do you think? Should they have gotten someone else to deliver the message for Kashmir Solidarity Day?
