Malaysians and travellers from 52 other countries will be able to visit St. Petersburg with a simplified electronic visa beginning 1st October. The 30-day e-visa will take effect for the St. Petersburg and areas of the Leningrad region first.
According to The Moscow Times, Malaysians will be able to spend time in Russia for eight days out of the 30-day validity period of the e-visa. Those who are interested in visiting St. Petersburg can apply for their electronic visa at least four days before they arrive in Russia through the Russian Foreign Ministry website and no consular fee will be charged!
Before this programme was implemented, Malaysians had to register for a standard visa which costs about 65 Euros or RM300.
The simplified e-visa is an initiative by President Vladimir Putin to fulfil his promise to collect about RM64 billion in annual tourism revenue by the time he reaches the end of his presidential term in 2024. He is well aware that tourists from all over the world tend to face difficulties when getting visas to visit Russia.
Time to pack our bags and grab this offer to travel there. Now is your chance to grab this FREE e-visa. No more Putin it off!
