Prasarana, in collaboration with the Touch ‘n Go Group, announced today (June 26) that Malaysians can soon activate and renew the My50 Unlimited Travel Pass starting July 1.
According to a statement provided to WORLD OF BUZZ, the pass can be purchased and activated directly via the Touch ‘n Go eWallet mobile application.

My50 is exclusively for Malaysians
Prasarana Group President and Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah, said the digitalisation of the My50 pass marks a progressive step forward, offering maximum convenience for users.
The new initiative removes the need for users to queue at counters or use their MyKad to purchase or activate the pass. Instead, the entire process can now be done quickly and easily through a smartphone.
He added that the feature is expected to benefit nearly 250,000 existing My50 users and encourage even more city residents to make the switch to public transport.

“A key milestone in improving the public transport system”
Meanwhile, Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Praba Sangarajoo, said the collaboration with Prasarana and the Transport Ministry to enable digital My50 pass purchases via the TNG eWallet is a key milestone in improving Malaysia’s public transport system.
“Now, Malaysians can purchase the My50 pass faster, anytime and anywhere. This initiative further strengthens our commitment at the Touch ‘n Go Group to developing digital innovations for the people of Malaysia,” he added.
In the next phase, Prasarana will expand its digitalisation initiative to other products such as the MyCity pass that aims to enhance accessibility, reduce reliance on cash transactions, and provide a smoother and faster travel experience.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke, however, clarified that users who aren’t ready to transition to the digital platform can still renew their My50 pass using their MyKad at counters, according to Harian Metro.
Meanwhile, China Press reported that users without the TNG eWallet on their mobile phones can continue using their MyKad as the My50 monthly pass, and they can still visit any Rapid KL counter and pay RM50 to purchase or renew it as usual.
Users can find more information about the My50 digitisation at Myrapid or Touch ‘n Go.
