Just a while back, the animated movie, Lightyear, was banned in Malaysia due to LGBTQ elements present in certain scenes.
Now, another cartoon is receiving backlash among Malaysians over similar circumstances.
Based on a report by Kosmo and Negeri Sembilan kini, parents are being warned against allowing their children to watch Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, based on a social media posting, due to the formation of an LGBTQ relationship between two of the characters.
The social media posting shared, “Heads up, parents with small children. I sat down with my two boys to enjoy the newly-released season of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, which up until yesterday was one of our favourites.”
“I was caught by surprise when the show’s female character, Yas, began confessing her feelings for another girl, Sammy. Shame on you for not changing the show on the mature content side.”
She added that such shows should have the purpose of entertainment instead of political ideas and agendas.
“Apparently, the animated series revolves around a lesbian love affair and I was informed that they got ‘quite physical’ in one of the episodes. I have now blocked the show from the children’s profile. But, I still have some questions, who is profiting from this? And how much (are they profiting)?”
Malaysians have since shared their distrust and disappointment over the presence of the scene in the cartoon.
“The agenda to normalise something that is not normal. (What the) hell.”
“Weyy, it’s scary if kids see this.”
