Being beaten and burnt with a lighter are among the hardships and abuse a child had to go through as a victim of abuse by their adoptive mother and father at their home in Beranang, Selangor.

However, thankfully, the suffering of the 4-year-old victim has come to an end when the husband and wife duo were arrested in a raid at 2:30am this morning, July 22.

Based on a report by Sinar Harian, the Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan shared that his department had received a report from a man who stated that there was a case of child abuse and injury.

“Preliminary investigations found that the incident occurred because the victim did not like to eat rice and the suspect forced the victim to swallow rice until they vomited. In addition, the victim is also said to be hyperactive,” he said.

Additionally, the victim turned out to be the child of an Indonesian woman and investigations found that the victim’s birth was never registered.

“The victim was handed over to the suspects for care since April 2022 because their biological mother is unable to take care of them and the victim is said to be beaten quite often by the adoptive couple. The victim was beaten using clothes hangers, broomsticks and sometimes lit with lighters,” he explained.

Following the arrest of the child’s adoptive parents, they was also taken to the Kajang Hospital for treatment.

“The victim was confirmed to have suffered injuries on several parts of the body,” he added.

The woman, who is Malaysian, and her Singaporean husband will be remanded for seven days for further investigations under Section 31 (1) (a) of the Children Act 2001.

Earlier, a video of the poor kid being abused by their adoptive family had gone viral online. You can check out the video here

We’re so happy that the child is no longer in the hands of such abusive people.
