It was reported that the shooter involved in the incident at Setia City Mall, Selangor, had escaped by stopping a vehicle and forcing the driver to drive him away from the location and drop him off on the KESAS highway.
Now, the owner of the vehicle, a 30-year-old man who did not want to be identified, is opening up about the horrific experience.
“My family and I faced a terrifying 45-minute ordeal in the car with the man, who pointed a gun at me and ordered me to leave the shopping mall in Setia Alam on the day of the incident,” he said.

According to a report by Harian Metro, the vehicle owner explained that he and his family, consisting of his wife and their 4 children, were eating at a restaurant in the shopping mall when things turned chaotic because of the shooting.
“The security guard ordered us all to leave immediately. At that time, I did not know what exactly happened. I immediately took my family out and when I was about to go to the parking lot, I heard an explosion. At first, I thought it was a collision which sounded like an explosion,”
“I thought it was just a normal sound and did not expect it to be the sound of a gunshot,” he explained.

When they got to the car park, he noticed many cars moving at high speed. That’s when the shooter appeared and pointed a gun at them, before getting into the car’s back seat.
“As our family was about to get into the car, suddenly a man was next to me and pointed a gun. I was stunned. The suspect also fired a shot at the wall to prove it was a real gun,”
“I asked him to put the gun away so that the children wouldn’t be scared. The man then directed me to the exit before getting off at the side of the highway. He was in the car for about 45 minutes and before disappearing, he took the memory card from the car’s dashcam,” he added.
The car owner and his family escaped the incident unharmed and PDRM is actively on the hunt for the suspect.
