Animals are not excluded from the suffering that came with the flood.
In order to help these voiceless animals, the Malaysian Veterinary Medical Association (MAVMA) along with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UPM and Malaysian Small Animal Veterinary Association (MSAVA) have banded together to operate an emergency mobile veterinary clinic.
This mobile clinic is for all animals that are affected by the flood in Shah Alam, Selangor and it operates from 21-27 December from 9am-6pm. Today is their 3rd day in operation.
The vets are located at this coordinate: 3.0209197998046875, 101.53856658935547 (at the parking lot of KFC/Pizza Hut in Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam).
If your pet or a stray has been hurt/sick because of the flood, you can bring it over to the mobile clinic. First-line treatment will be given to the cats and dogs by licensed veterinarians.
They have also assured that the treatment will be completely free.
This initiative is supported by many companies and agencies that supply this mobile clinic with medical tools and food for the animals.
If you would like to contribute to this cause as well, you can do so via donation. The details are as follow:
- Bank: CIMB Bank
- Account number: 80-0263274-5

Dr. Farina, the coordinator of this mobile clinic told WORLD OF BUZZ that what they need now is foster homes to temporarily place the rescued stray animals until they get adopted. She added that the cost of animal food will be covered.
If you would like to know more about fostering the rescued strays, you can contact the mobile clinic (+6012-612 7101).
Kudos to the volunteers and the organisers for this! We’re so thankful that someone is helping the animals who are also affected by the floods.
