One of the most agonising experiences anyone could go through would be to experience hunger, and not by choice. Therefore, when one has the ability to extend their hand towards and nourish a famished being, doing so will only be for the greater good.

Malaysian university student and TikTok user Hazea recently documented such an instance on her account @nsyhazea. Currently studying at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Hazea came across a monkey who was sitting outside an area of her building, waiting and staring at her.

Holding a wrapped food item in her hands, Hazea proceeds to toss it to the monkey, with the creature swiftly catching it in his hands.

Climbing to a spot on an opposing roof to where Hazea was, the monkey slowly unwraps the items, discovering that it is food, and starts to eat it. Preciously holding the item, the monkey savours every bite slowly. At the end of the clip, the primate glances towards Hazea, as though to thank her for the food, before continuing his meal.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Hazea said that she had purchased Shawarma, a sandwich with Middle Eastern origins, the day before. However, she did not finish the meal. Realising that the food had been kept for over a day, Hazea intended to throw it away before noticing the monkey sitting on the roof.

I gave it to him because I knew if I didn’t, it would end up in the bin. The food wasn’t spoiled yet, and if I put it in the trashcan, I know other monkeys will surely ravage through it and make a mess, as there are a lot of monkeys around UKM,” said Hazea to WORLD OF BUZZ.

Receiving immense praise for her deed, many Malaysians thanked Hazea for deciding to provide sustenance to the monkey, as opposed to throwing the food away and letting it go to waste. Others were even in awe by how clever the monkey was to catch the sandwich before eating it.

Seeing this also, I could cry,” touchingly wrote one user.
