Travelling is a pleasure not every person can afford to do often. But the best part about visiting different places across the globe is that you don’t actually have to break the bank to have a satisfying holiday.
A recent TikTok video has been making waves online after one Malaysian traveller named Didi shared how he was able to spend just RM800 on a three-day-two-night trip to Hat Yai, Thailand. In a series of photos posted to his account @ddabdullah, Didi revealed not only what activities he got up to for the three days, but also broke down his cost along the way.
Among some of the places Didi visited while he was in Hat Yai included the renowned Khlong Hae Floating Market, various night markets, and even the Central Mosque of Songkhla. As for the leisurely spots, Didi also paid a visit to Samila Beach, located at the Northern part of Songkhla, and Baan Iyara Massage & Cafe spa. He even found the time to visit the Central Festival Mall and try local delicacies.
Towards the end of his series, Didi also revealed how much he spent for his entire trip, including RM90 for transportation fees, by way of tuk-tuk and cars, and accommodation, which totalled to only RM117 for two nights.
As for his other expenditure, Didi disclosed that he had only spent about RM200 on food and RM25 for a SIM card during the trip. When it came to his travels from Kuala Lumpur to Hat Yai and back, Didi also stated that he had taken a return bus trip for the journey, which cost him just RM171. Ultimately, the trip to Hat Yai only cost the traveller RM800 in total for all three days.
In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Didi stated that his advise to others who would like to follow his curated itinerary is to build consistency when it comes to saving money.
“Just focus on saving every month if possible,” he said to WORLD OF BUZZ.
Didi also advised others who’d like to travel to Hat Yai that forms of spending can be fluid depending on where one stays and how much one delegates to their shopping budget.
