As we all know, uncles and aunties like to ask kepoh questions like why we still don’t have a boyfriend or girlfriend on Chinese New Year (CNY).
There’re a number of ways to respond to these questions, but Kinn (@kinn._) decided to do things differently this year.
Before CNY, he uploaded a TikTok video saying that he’s available for rent for CNY for just RM50 a day. Yes, a rental boyfriend! This video left many netizens curious about whether he actually followed through with the idea, and he did.
In his latest video uploaded yesterday, Kinn vlogged his day carrying out boyfriend duties for a client whose offer he accepted.
First, he bought some bakwa for the girl’s family and then met her at her family’s house. Then, he took some photos with her before heading to the living room where he was greeted with some angpows from the girl’s dad and grandfather. Talk about meeting the parents!
At lunch, Kinn even fed his client some pineapple tarts and peeled prawns for her as these were among the things included in his rental boyfriend package.
“The prawns were very oily, but I tried my best,” he said in the video.
Later, Kinn also did the dishes, fed the girl some bakwa, helped to dry her hair, and joined in for dinner with her family at a restaurant.
“I told myself at the end of the day that I’m never going to rent myself out again,” Kinn said at the end of his video.

Below the video, netizens’ comments ranged from those saying that Kinn should’ve asked for a higher price, those questioning if someone actually rented him and those enquiring about future rentals.
