Just yesterday (26 July), a secondary school female student was almost abducted by unknown individuals but luckily, she managed to break free from her captors. However, this was not the scariest part, because she saw another girl who was unconscious in the van.
According to Oriental Daily, the girl is a student of SMK Taman Universiti 2 in Skudai, Johor and she was walking home alone after school. That’s when a white cargo van approached her and a man tried to force her into the van, but the plan didn’t work out.
However, she was shocked when she saw an unconscious girl lying inside the cargo van. She rushed back to her school to alert the school authorities and subsequently lodged a police report.
Johor Bahru North deputy police chief Superintendent Beh Eng Lai confirmed that the police had received the report. Based on the statement given by the victim, the suspects who were driving the white cargo van had approached the girl and when the vehicle was close enough to the victim, a foreigner jumped out to grab the girl but failed to catch her.
It is understood that the suspects purposely chose that particular time after school to hunt for their prey as students from multiple schools in that area were going home at that time.
The school’s Chinese Association also took to Facebook to warn its fellow schoolmates about the incident and reminded them not to walk home alone.
According to the post, the van had no license plate and there were a few foreigners inside the vehicle. Also, there was a very pungent gasoline smell coming from the inside of the van.
The police are now investigating the case under Section 363 and Section 511 of the Penal Code. At the time of writing, the fate of the unconscious girl is still unknown.
We pray for the safety of the girl and if you have any information regarding this case, please don’t hesitate to contact the police.
