The cards every person is dealt in this lifetime are undoubtedly random and unplanned. No matter what we are allotted, making the best of a situation is sometimes the best we can do. Yet, there are occasional circumstances that put into perspective just how challenging life can be for certain people, and that we should always be grateful for the small blessings we have in our lives.

A recent TikTok video has been making waves online after a Malaysian named Saharuddin Amirullah shared an instance to his page @saharuddinamirullah of an emotional yet touching moment between himself and a couple of young girls who he came across by a roadside in Sabah.

At the beginning of the video, Saharuddin encountered these girls when he saw them walking by a road, with two baskets and a water bottle in their hands. Stopping his car by said roadside, Saharuddin gets down and approaches the girls to speak to them. Upon further discussion is Saharuddin told by the kids that they are selling curry puffs to make enough money to make ends meet for their family.

As they pack multiple pieces of curry puffs for Saharuddin, the girls tell him of their father who has passed away, leaving them without a source of income as he was their sole breadwinner. Making the decision to buy all the curry puffs the children had, Saharuddin pays them the price they charged before giving them extra money for their own keeping.

Thanking him for his kindness, the girls and Saharuddin break down in tears for a moment, as he gives them both hugs. The video ends with both girls bidding him farewell and going home.

In a subsequent TikTok video, Saharuddin returned to find the girls again, providing them with grocery items such as rice and eggs to get them by. Saharuddin even found the time to visit their children’s home, which is a small attap house. There, they reside with their mother and younger siblings, with one who is as young as two years old.

“Their will is strong although they are still young in age,” wrote Saharuddin in the caption of his post.

Receiving immense praise for his acts of kindness and generosity, many Malaysians applauded Saharuddin for continuing his efforts to aid this family through their struggles. Others could not help but express emotion in the comments section, sending prayers of protection to these brave young girls in finding sustenance for their family now that their father is not around.

“Oh God, please protect these children. As a mother to see these children walking on the side of the road without an adult, may angels always surround you and protect you,” wrote one user.
