While many of us complain about our lives and the things we don’t have, we often forget to appreciate what we do have.

Among the things that we should be grateful for are having a comfortable roof above our heads and having food on our tables.

Netizen, 陳橙权, took to his Facebook page to remind people to be appreciative of the lives they have as there will always be others who are less fortunate and can only wish to be in our shoes. He shared this as he showcased a little boy sleeping on the ground in a parking lot while holding onto garlands of jasmine flowers, presumably to sell them to make a living.

He wrote, “The only thing people cannot choose is the environment in which they are born into. Not everyone can grow up in a stable home. When you feel like you are at your lowest, look at some of the people who have fallen into the corners of our society.”

“Even if he’s just a child, you will find that you are much more fortunate. Please cherish this, that you have 3 meals with more than enough to eat. Because some children don’t even have a next meal.”

He went on to encourage people to be as hardworking as the little boy, and to help children like him out when they can.

“You should never give up and work hard to change your life. And when you have the capabilities, please take a moment to look at the forgotten children. Even if you treat them to just a simple meal, they will be very content. I hope everyone can share a little love, then the world will be a beautiful place,” he added.

We genuinely hope that this poor boy’s life gets better!
