A recent TikTok that’s been making waves online shows a man trying out a modified remote key that lets him start his car engine without even being inside.

A police car that passed by suddenly made a U-turn back to him

In the video, the man (@remotestarter24) is seen excitedly testing the remote out by starting the car engine with just the press of a button on the remote key.

While he was recording, a police car passed by, but made a U-turn at the end of the road and came back toward him.

Seeing the police car heading his way, the man quickly ran back to the car and turned the engine off.

“Why were you running?”

In the video, the man admits that his decision to run made him look even more suspicious, especially since the police car was just a short distance away.

“Don’t make the same mistake I did. Running only makes things worse. Always stay calm and composed in situations like this,” he advised.

When the police reached him, the police greeted him and asked why he was running. The police then joked and told him to test the remote again by starting the engine.

“Fuh, that’s nice. This way you can park next to a Honda” said the police officer.

The unexpected twist had netizens cracking up, with many jumping into the comments to share their reactions.

“I thought he was asking you to run back again.”

“‘Why were you running?’ The way the cop said it gives off dad vibes.”

“I bet you were scared at the time.”

“I thought he told you to run back again, but turns out he just wanted you to show off by starting the engine.”
