A viral video showing a passenger carelessly swinging open his car door into the path of an oncoming motorcyclist in Penang has taken social media by storm, sparking an online frenzy.
The near-collision happened at a busy traffic stop, where a motorcyclist weaving through traffic almost crashed into the man, who had opened his door to head into a nearby shop.

The motorcyclist, clearly shaken, honked in frustration and shouted muffled insults at the man who simply walked away, either in shock or hoping to avoid further confrontation.
Shortly after, the man issued a public apology, putting the matter to rest.

“I unintentionally opened a car door and almost caused a motorcyclist to crash. It was a moment of carelessness on my part, and I take full responsibility for what happened,” he explained.
“The situation unfolded very quickly, and I was in shock. In that moment, I did apologise, but I panicked and left without properly checking if the rider was okay emotionally.”
He added, “That was wrong, and I deeply regret my actions. Please know that it was never my intention to cause harm or distress anyone.”
Well, at least he owned up to it both in person and publicly. That’s a solid way to handle a delicate situation.
