A man was fined RM1,000 for going out of his house after 10pm during the Movement Control Order (MCO).
According to a photo of the compound that was posted on Facebook, the incident happened on 21 January at Sungai Besar, Selangor.
The fine was issued at 11.25pm with the offence listed as “Leaving the house with no valid reason after 10pm.”
However, when Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the list of standard operating procedures (SOP) during the MCO that’s implemented all across Malaysia except Sarawak, there was no mention of a curfew for individuals.
The curfews that he announced only applied to restaurants, petrol stations, and various other essential businesses that are allowed to operate.
We hope the government can clarify this matter so that other individuals are aware of what they can or cannot do during the MCO.
