For many foreign workers in Malaysia, having a home-cooked meal of dishing from their home countries are a blessing. Especially considering that many of them may not have gone home for a long time and that these meals may hold sentimental values.
Which is why it is great to see how a Malaysian man had decided to make a Nepalese security guard’s day by cooking him is favourite dish from back home.
Abe Bakar took to his Facebook page to showcase the kind gesture, where he personally cooked the guard’s favourite meal from back home, the Nepalese Momo (a Nepali version of a dumpling).
He wrote, “Insyallah, we will try to make many more people happy by cooking food that they have wanted or longed to eat for a long time. It is also quite challenging to cook Nepalese Momo, a traditional dish of the Nepalese people.”
“He said that he has not eaten (this dish) for 3 years and misses the food very much because he has not been back in Nepal for a long time.”
In the video, Abe Bakar approached a security guard and asked him for a dish he had been wanting to eat for a long time. When the guard responded with ‘Nepali Momo’, Abe Bakar then told the guard that he would see him the next day before going grocery shopping for the necessary ingredients for the dish and making it from scratch.
When the presenting the Momo to the security guard, the Nepalese man’s face lit up!
Upon tasting the dish, he said that it tasted the same as how he would get it in his home country, making his day.

What a great way to spread kindness and happiness. Kudos, Abe Bakar!
