A lorry driver was severely injured in the head after he was mauled by a panther along Jalan Bukit Tangga-Seremban in Jelebu.
It is understood that the victim, a man in his 50s, stopped by the side of the road to urinate. A viral dashcam footage shows the panther attacking the lorry driver before immediately fleeing back into the woods.

In an official statement by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) yesterday (April 4), Perhilitan Negeri Sembilan has increased patrols in the area to ensure the safety of the people. In the meantime, they have also visited the victim for support, who is currently being treated at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar.
Despite his injury, the victim is in a stable condition.

According to BERNAMA, Negeri Sembilan Wildlife Protection and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) director Faizal Izham urged road users to remain vigilant when travelling through known wildlife corridors.
If you happen to spot any wild animals, do not make any attempt to handle the situation and contact the wildlife department immediately.
