Has your mother ever told you that if you don’t study hard, you will end up as a cashier in a convenience store or a garbage collector? It’s such a strange way of motivation and it really speaks to the traditional Asian mindset.
These people work really hard by helping manage our garbage, sometimes endangering their health. So, this kindergarten principal taught her children an unforgettable lesson.
In a post on Facebook, Madam Eda Ali, the principal of Taska Nurul Ilmu in Nibong Tebal, Penang has shared that her children love to watch and wave to the garbage collectors when they pass by.
So one day,Madam Eda Ali called the workers in when they passed by to give them some drinks for all their hard work! She says that as teachers, they have the responsibility to instill good values in children like respecting the occupation of others and also appreciating their heroic efforts.
She also said as one of them was drinking, they told the children to study hard so they won’t end up like him. T___T
She said maybe they will understand his feelings, maybe they won’t, but what matters is the experience and the exposure. It is memories like this that make their childhood something to remember.
THE AMOUNT OF FEELS. Bless their little hearts! We hope that they grow up well and to our unsung heroes, the janitors, garbage collectors, road sweepers, sewage workers etc, thank you for your service! We can never thank you enough for all the hard work you put in to make our lives easier.
