Using social media to help with your business is not wrong. These days, we can witness a lot of individuals leveraging on the LIVE function on Facebook to sell their product as well as to engage with their followers and potential customers.

However, it is only human nature to be honest when going about promoting your business. Because, if you employ trickery, you will sure kena kantoi sooner or later.

The perfect example of such incident occurred recently when a lady, presumed to be a business owner, was in her Facebook Live session to interact with her followers.

In the video, we can see her speaking non-stop with alleged stashes of RM100 notes and fake gold bars scattered all over a table in front of her. She started speaking to her followers and invited them to say “Hi” to her because she was going to do a special giveaway. She said,

“Today we are giving away attractive cash prizes for you guys!”

But she slipped up and accidentally picked up two RM100 notes that were attached to each other with only one side of the note printed on. You can see the flash of panic in her eyes, before she tried to play it cool by placing it down, out of sight from the netizens.

Immediately netizens called her out for using fake notes and fake gold bars.

Several netizens pointed out that using fake notes is illegal and she can actually land herself in big trouble.

We applaud individuals who dare to run their own business but please be mindful of the strategies that you use to promote your ventures. Honesty is the best policy ok?
