A Malaysian man found a rather peculiar place to bring his rod and reel to go fishing, whereby instead of going to fishing ponds, rivers, lakes or even the sea, he decided to try his luck fishing at a popular mall with an indoor canal in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
Videos of the incident, shared by @hanzazkhan on TikTok, have since gone viral, garnering over 381,000 combined views as of the time of writing.
A Malaysian man casually fishing at the indoor canal of a mall
In the videos, the man can be seen casually standing by the indoor canal with his fishing rod and reel, trying to catch one of the many fishes swimming in the canal.
As he was doing so, he was watched by several individuals near him who seemed to be amused by the man’s antics.
Well, except for one individual, the mall’s security personnel, who tried to reprimand the man for fishing at the canal, as it was not allowed.
However, the security personnel’s warnings were ignored by the man, who continued to fish at the canal.
Furthermore, the security personnel can be seen talking to his walkie-talkie, presumably to report the incident to the mall’s security department and to call for backup.

In a follow-up video, the man can then be seen leaving the premises after failing to catch any fish.
Walking away from the canal, the man tapped the security personnel’s shoulder before urgently making his way out.
